Grand Opening Celebration

IRI celebrated a milestone on March 2, 2024, by opening its new headquarters at 2016 Linden Boulevard. The administrative offices will be co-located with its flagship day habilitation program for people with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD). Dr. Elizabeth Corrigan, Chief Operating Officer, designed the day habilitation program and its approach. Dr. Corrigan provided our guests with an instructional tour of the facility by giving a detailed presentation of the offerings ranging from physical fitness, sensory regulation room, gaming room, art room, music room, and a community inclusion planning area. The program focuses on community inclusion and using particular activities as a behavior management tool. The experiences and events planned for March 2024 were shared with all, and the quality prompted some guests to voice their amazement at the richness and thoughtfulness of the planning. Finally, under Ana Koessler, Chief Administrative Officer’s direction, guests were serenaded by a beautiful cello and violin duet whose classical and contemporary selections were touching.  A delicious and healthy lunch was served as well as an art exhibition by Jerry Georges, a Haitian artist. We want to thank everyone for coming and celebrating with us.
